Support the adults and systems around students.
School communities bring together students, families, educators, and support staff with different responsibilities and concerns. A mental health presentation is more useful when its audience and purpose are clear: what questions are people asking, and what should the conversation help them understand?
Kimberly Boatner, LCSW, CADC, welcomes inquiries from schools and education organizations about presentations and consultation. Her background includes private and public education settings, residential and outpatient care, and ongoing community collaboration in Kane County.
Start with the audience
Requests involving students should specify the age group and proposed setting. Content, format, consent considerations, and fit need to be discussed before an engagement is agreed upon.
A stronger request begins with a few details
- Who will attend, and approximately how many people?
- What questions or organizational needs prompted the request?
- Is the goal education, a facilitated discussion, consultation, or planning?
- What time, setting, and budget constraints should be considered?
- Who will coordinate logistics and any follow-up within the school?
You do not need a finalized event title to inquire. Describe the need in general terms, without sharing student records or individual case histories.
Experience connecting care and education
Kimberly’s community involvement includes the Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative and a partnership with the Kane County Regional Office of Education. Her clinical and educational background informs the context she brings to organizational conversations. These relationships do not imply an endorsement of a specific event.
Schools in St. Charles, Geneva, Campton Hills, and the surrounding region are welcome to inquire. Location, availability, presentation format, and any requested credentials or credit requirements must be confirmed.
